Swimming
Swimming Holes
Bring your bathing suit! If you are looking for a secluded place to jump in the water, you will find numerous swimming holes on many of our lakes and rivers. Natural pools are sometimes located at the base of a waterfall, like at the end of the Lower Cascades Trail in Hanging Rock State Park or along Elkin Creek at Carter Falls. Remember to leave these natural places in the same state you left them!
Public Pools & Splash Pads
The Piedmont Triad also offers many public pools and splash pads for you to cool off in the summer months. The places listed in the directory below are public pools/splash pads, but may charge an entrance fee.
